Its quite popular to say, Petra would not be complete unless you experience the event Petra by Night: This event is one of the highlights of Petra! A magical way to see by candlelight and explore the old city which is now become a world wonder. This amazing experience is done 3 nights per week (all Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays) and which is generally advised as travel tip that it is not to be missed.

This fabulous event starts at 08:30pm (pn every Monday, Wednesday andThursdays) and lasts for 2 hours or more. This magnificent, explore by walking experience starts from the Visitors centre, the entire Siq (trail or hike through Petra) and Treasury are lit with over 1000 candles to bring the major attraction due to the spectacular view it has. Your evening starts with a stroll down the Siq in complete silence to take in the incredible sights around you. Once you arrive at the Treasury (the world wonder), you will be requested to be seated on a never before unique experience such as on mats and listen to the traditional Jordanian music played by the local Bedouins. It will make you excited, just when you think the music is complete, and where you see a musician with his flute appears out of the dark Treasury, making his way through the candles to stand before the crowds.

Following that you will be entertained with a story about Petra and the Nabataeans where it adds more interest when you know the nice informative and cultural about the past. The night is complete with the traditional Bedouin mint tea, to a nice warm up to cherish the amazing experience you had with this great event, i,e. Petra By Night!.

The entrance fee collected to participate in the event (Petra by Night) is 12JD (17USD), for children under 12years they are admitted on free of charge.
